Hi everybody!
I hope the holidays were good to all of you! Now that school is back in session and we settle in to the new year, I hope everyone is as excited as the coaching staff is about starting our 2012 baseball season right now!
As you all know, our batting facility is open with scheduled times for high school players on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (4-5:30pm). I expect players not participating in winter sport to attend our workouts at least twice a week. Baseball is a game of repetition and timing, and the players who participate are going to have a huge advantage over those who don't.
Unfortunately, we cannot offer the use of this facility for free. Players will need to sign up at the Parks Department and can receive discounts on multi-month packages. If finances are a problem, please contact me personally and I will make sure you are taken cared of.
The Nisqually league is an extremely competitive league with several teams placing in state the last several years with Chimacum winning the State Title last year. They have 7 out of 9 starters returning, including 3-time MVP Landon Cray. We need every player to have the mindset of working hard to become the most fundamentally sound team we can become and that means starting NOW! In the two weeks the batting facility has been open there were two players who have shown up every workout with a couple of others showing up once. By January 13th, I expect everybody to be participating in our workout program.
