On Friday, April 20, the JV Pirates defeated the Foster High School Bulldogs in 6 innings by a score of 13-2 on the Vashon home field. On the mound the Pirates were led by pitcher Wes Paulsen, who had 4 strikeouts in 6 innings. Paulsen also helped his own cause at the plate by going 1-3 with a 2B and a walk. The Vashon hitting attack was led by RF Luke Johnson (3-4, 2B, 2 1B, BB, 1 RBI), 2B Joe Gilmour, (2-3, 2 1B, BB, 3R), CF Adam Powelson (3-4, 3 2B, BB, 4RBI’s), and 1B Ryan Johnson (1-1, 1B 2 BB, 2R) . Also adding to the Pirates 14 hits were C Gerron Webb (0-1, 2 SF, 1R, BB, 1RBI) and SS Matt Amick (1-2, 1B, SF, 1RBI) who helped move the runners along with a combined 3 sacrifice flies. The JV team is now 4-3 on the season. Next scheduled game is 4/23 at Chimacum.
