Pirates Drop a Close One at Eatonville

The Vashon varsity lost to Eatonville on Monday (March 22) 5-3.  Matt Amick threw the first four innings and Julian Smith finished the last two on the mound.

Eatonville played small ball and scratched out 5 runs on just three hits, aided by two key Pirate mental mistakes.  That, combined with the unusually quiet Pirate bats, led to Vashon’s second loss of the 2010 campaign.

Hitting highlights:  Matt Amick 2 for 4 and Julian Smith 2 for 4 with 2 RBI. The line score:  Vashon 3 runs, 5 hits, 3 errors and Eatonville 5 runs, 3 hits, 3 errors.

Coach Hall’s post game comment − “Batters need to have a game plan, every game. They need to have focus.”
