On April 29 the Pirates JV team traveled to Orting to play the Cardinals. After leading for most of the game, the Pirates finally fell in the bottom of the seventh 7-6. Errors plagued Vashon most of the game as five of the seven runs were unearned. Kelly Sullivan went the distance on the mound and pitched superbly. He threw 94 pitches, struck out 6, and only walked one! The leading Pirates hitters were Geoffrey Kraabel who was 3 for 3 with a run and an RBI, Rowan Stewart 2 for 4 with two RBIs, and Sullivan who went 1 for 4 with two RBIs.
