Orting Shuts Out Pirates

Vashon traveled to Orting on April 25th and lost to the Cardinals 4-0.  Orting held a narrow 1-0 lead through five innings, but struck for three runs in the sixth to put the game out of reach.  Joe Wald took the hill for the Pirates and pitched a complete game, scattering six hits and allowing only one earned run.  He had two strikeouts, but gave up five walks.  The Vashon offense was stymied by Orting pitcher Joel Moore and was only able to generate one hit on the day-a single by Ezra Lacina.  Moore pitched a complete game shutout giving up just the one single along with ten strikeouts and no walks.  The line score:  Orting 4 runs, 6 hits, 0 errors   Vashon 0 runs, 1 hit, 2 errors.
